Obituary of Florence Scala
Florence Scala (nee Sciascia), age 92, of Totowa, passed away on January 12, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn to the late Stefano and Lina Sciascia. Florence was a seamstress who loved to crochet and was also a chef most recently at Plantation Restaurant in Fairfield, NJ. Florence was a very religious woman who was a member of the Rosary Society of NY and enjoying providing transportation for nuns. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Scala. She was the adored mother of Steven Scala. She was the dear sister of Nina Ippolito, Mary Bruno, Anne Bruno and her husband Fred, Laura Panaro and her husband George and the late Frankie, Mario and Angelo Sciascia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Thursday at 9:30am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY at 12pm.
