Obituary of Carmen Lavorgna
Carmen Lavorgna, age 92, of Paterson, passed away on August 2, 2010. Carmen bravely served this country as a member of the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1946. He was a foundry worker at Benjamin Eastwood in Paterson before retiring. He was a member of the Riverside Veterans.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Chaplin) for over 68 years. Treasured father to Judith Giurintano and her late husband Vito, Barbara Hackett and her husband Richard, and Jane Brida and her husband William. Adored grandfather to Philip Giurintano, Salvatore Giurintano, James Giurintano, Barbara Marie Hackett, Sharon Barry, Sherry Serio, Mark Hackett and Jonathan Brida. Great-grandfather to Michael Giurintano, Christopher Giurintano, AJ Giurintano, Justin Giurintano, Jaclyn Giurintano, Giuseppe Jocko, David Jocko, Frank Hackett, Michael Barry, Jenna Serio, Sarah Hackett and Mark Hackett, Jr. and great-great grandfather to Dagny Hackett. He is also survived by his sisters Lee LaNeve and Marge Firstbrook. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Visiting will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be held Friday 9:30am. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
