Obituary of Robert James David

Robert James David "Smoky", 92, of Woodland Park, passed away on January 30, 2013. Bob was born in Paterson to the late Thomas and Lillian David. He proudly served the US as a member of the Navy from 1944-1945. Smoky worked most recently as a ranger at the Passaic County Golf Course for 22 years and was also a member of the VFW Albion Post in Clifton. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Mae (nee Johnstone). He was the treasured father of Robert J. David, Jr. and Karin and Beverly Bennett. He was the adored grandfather of Robert J. David, III and his wife Lynn, Deborah David and her husband Omar, Mark Bennett and his wife Roberta, Cheryl Savittieri and her husband Joseph, Tracy Kallert and her husband Chuck, David Bennett and his wife Malina, and Kelly Lawson and her husband Ian and the great grandfather of Marco, Gianna, Joey, Kaitlyn, Maria, Michael, Renee, Lauren, Brooke and Sydney. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas David and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday at 10:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
