Obituary of Robert M. Simon
Robert Michael Simon, of Little Falls, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2010. He was 71 years old. Born in Wilkes-Barre,PA, Bob moved to the Stoney Road section of Paterson when he was 9 years old. Following graduation from Paterson Central High School, he served his country in the US Navy, aboard the destroyer USS NOA from 1957-1960 and later became a member of the VFW Post # 7165 in Clifton. He was a graduate of William Paterson College and worked for the Passaic Valley Water Commission for 36 years. Bob was an active member of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Little Falls and sang faithfully in its choir for over 60 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest when he was hunting or fishing.
Bob leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Kathleen, his daughter Christina and her husband Mark of Santa Monica, California; his daughter Suzanne and her husband Jim of Chester, NY, his sister Elaine of Little Ferry; and his most beloved grandchildren Sara and Jimmy.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 237 Long Hill Rd., Little Falls, NJ on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at St. George's Church on Tuesday at 10am. Internment will take place on Wednesday at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover, PA. The procession will be leaving from Santangelo Funeral Home at 8am.
