Louise DiCerbo

Obituary of Louise DiCerbo

Louise DiCerbo (nee Villano), age 91, of Paterson , passed away on May 29, 2011. She was born in Paterson to the late Carmine and Ida Villano. She worked for many years in the textile industry and was a member of the Textile Union # 1733 in Paterson, NJ. She also worked for Clarkwood in Totowa which was responsible for printing and bookbinding. After retiring, she was a crossing guard for the St. Bonaventure School which is now Public School #29 in Paterson. She was a parishioner of St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen DiCerbo. She was the treasured mother of the late Thomas DiCerbo and the late Stephen DiCerbo. She was the adored grandmother to Robert DiCerbo and his wife Jill, Rachel DiCerbo and David DiCerbo. Dear aunt to Marie Brizzi, Carol Berthiaume, Richard Brizzi, Gary Brizzi, Norma Chiarella, Robert Brizzi and Antoinette Davies. She was predeceased by her sisters Anna Villano and Mary Brizzi. As many in her family can attest to she was motherly to all. Whether it was packing some homemade food for her son's teacher, taking her grandchildren to the jersey shore, or finding time to spend with her nieces and nephews, she always made family the central factor in her life. She was happiest on a Sunday afternoon spent with family around the kitchen table with more pasta and meatballs then those there could ever hope to consume. During her downtime she enjoyed nothing better then sitting in her recliner with a good mystery book or listening to the music of Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Of course this list would not be complete without adding any TV program featuring Tom Selleck. With a quick wit and infectious smile she was able to turn anyone's bad day into an enjoyable encounter. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by those in her family and all those who grew to know her over the years. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St.,Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
