Obituary of Winifred Caldo

Winifred "Winnie" Caldo, (nee Meyer), age 77, of Totowa, formerly of Paterson, passed away on July 3, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Paterson to the late John and Rita Meyer and was the oldest of 9 children. She worked at C. Goodman & Co. in Paterson for 30 years where she retired as supervisor. She was the beloved wife of Alfred J. Caldo, Sr. for over 52 years. She was the adored mother of Alfred J. Caldo, Jr. and his wife Julie, Laura Mele and her husband Anthony, James Caldo, and Gina Buccino and her husband William. She was the treasured grandmother to Kelly Fischer and her husband Raymond, Meghan Mele and Anthony Mele. She is the dear sister of Rosetta Allen, Kathleen Kauffman, Marie Clark and Colleen Anderson. She was predeceased by her brothers John, Charles, and James and her sister Rita. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 10:00am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 Totowa Road, Totowa. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
