Obituary of Eleanor Dunkerley

Eleanor Dunkerley (nee Vecchiarella), age 68, of Rockaway, passed away on September 30, 2011. Eleanor was born in Paterson, NJ to the late John and Domenica Vecchiarella. She worked as an elementary school teacher before retiring from School #5 in Paterson, NJ. Eleanor was a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church and was a member of the Woman's Club of Fox Hills. She was the beloved wife of Frank "Dunk" Dunkerley and the treasured mother of Frank Dunkerley, Jr. and his wife Marie. She is also survived by her brother John Vecchiarella, his wife Jan, their children Maura Douglass and Michael Vecchiarella, many other nieces and nephews, and her devoted cats Simba and Sara. Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 9am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8am. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
