Obituary of Elizabeth Gyurik

Elizabeth Gyurik, age 87, formerly of West Paterson, Barnegat, and Dover, passed away after a short illness on December 31, 2011. Betty was born in Jersey City to the late Peter and Mary Figlar Mikovich. She worked for 25 years at Beckman Instruments in Cedar Grove before retiring. She was a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. Betty was the beloved wife of the late John Gyurik and the treasured mother of Robert Gyurik and his wife Wendy of Exeter, NH, Carol Sweigart and her husband Frank, of Barnegat, Jeanne Allen and her husband Scott of Flanders and Jan Candio and her husband Kevin of Montville. She was the adored grandmother of Michael Sweigart and his wife Lizia, Kristen Smith and her husband Rob, Lara Marciano and her husband Rudy, Tia DiGiovanni and her husband Kevin, Alexandria O'Neal and her husband Joe, Jonathan, Ashley, James, Chris, Kenny, and Jenna, and great grandmother to Brannon, Jacob, Ana, Kaen, Nicholas, Cara, and Connor. She was predeceased by her brother George Mikovich. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 9 AM at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Burial will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
