Obituary of Sylvia Verheeck

Sylvia Verheeck (nee Sarafine), age 77, of Highland Lakes, formerly of Fair Lawn, passed away on January 7, 2012. Sylvia was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Peter and Anna Sarafine. Sylvia worked for many years as an X-ray technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. Every Christmas season, Sylvia would send over 900 holiday cards to local US Veterans. She was the beloved wife of the late Honore Verheeck. She was the treasured mother of Paula Farrenkopf and her husband Bruce and Raymond Verheeck and his wife Sheri. She was the dear sister to Joseph Sarafine, his wife Pearl and their family and was predeceased by her brother Raymond Sarafine and her sister Tina Nigro. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11am-1pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will take place after visitation on Tuesday at 1pm followed by burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
