Obituary of Jule Ellen "Girlie" Leskovics

Jule Ellen "Girlie" Leskovics (nee O'Rourke), age 90, of Woodland Park for the past 8 years, formerly a lifelong resident of Paterson, passed away on February 19, 2012. Girlie was born on May 16, 1921 in Paterson, to the late Catherine and John O'Rourke. She worked at Botany Mills during WWII making military uniforms and was also a volunteer at Red Cross Ambulance. She was a lifelong member of St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson and as well as a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Jule was married to the late Gregory "Gig" Leskovics for 62 years. Together they had four children; Gregory Leskovics and his wife Rosemary, John Leskovics and his wife Joyce, Katherine Capizzi and the late William Leskovics. She was also the adored grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Jule was predeceased by her sister Katherine Koss and brother James O'Rourke. No visitation will be held. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
