Obituary of Robert Campagna

Robert Campagna, age 80, of Paterson, passed away on March 27, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Paterson to the late Giuseppe and Maria Campagna. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later worked in shipping and receiving at Atlantic Spring in Flemington, NJ before retiring in 2008 at the age of 77. He was a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6905 in Paterson, and a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop #33 in Paterson. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Virginia (nee Behring) for 57 years. He was the best friend and grandfather to Tim Sesenko and the treasured father of Kathy Spada and her husband Mike, Robert Campagna and his wife Cindy, Andrew Campagna, Teresa Rider and her husband Greg, Mary DeNude and her husband Fred, Jr., and Joseph Campagna and his wife Priscilla. Bob was the adored grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Raymond Campagna and his wife Irene and Annamarie Labar and her husband George and brother in law to Rose Myers. He was predeceased by many brothers and sisters and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
