Obituary of Dante Di Lella
Dante Di Lella, age 89, of Totowa, passed away on July 27, 2012. Dante was born in Cerrito Sanita Prov. Di Benevento, Italy to the late Joseph and Laura Di Lella. After immigrating to the United States, he later proudly served in the US Army during WWII.
Before retiring, Dante was Assistant Chief of Security at William Paterson University where he received his Bachelor's Degree. Dante enjoyed golfing especially at the Passaic County Golf Course in Wayne and was an avid, trophy-winning bowler. He was also a parishioner at St. James of the Marches Church in Totowa.
Dante was the beloved husband of Anna (nee Breitenkamm) for over 65 years. He was the cherished father of Dante J. Di Lella and his wife Brenda, Christine Dantes, David Di Lella, and Daniel Di Lella and his wife Maureen. He was the treasured grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 6. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 Totowa Rd., Totowa. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
