Obituary of Dorothy Kinderman

Dorothy Kinderman (Fanslau), 91, of Lincoln Park passed away on March 30th after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Dorothy was born on September 29, 1922 in Paterson to the late Jacob & Jennie (McGill) Fanslau. She worked for many years for St. Anthony's Guild ever grateful to the Franciscans for being there throughout her life. She started out at the age of 16 in the Outgoing Mail Department in the original Paterson location, moving along with the Guild to Clifton & eventually to the New York City offices on W. 31st Street. She retired in 1994 at which time she was made an affiliate in the Third Order of St. Francis, Holy Name Province, Order of Friars Minor (O.F.M.), an honor of which she greatly treasured. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Kinderman. She is survived by her son Kenneth & his wife Josephine of Bronxville, New York, daughter Karen Marabondo & her husband Joseph of Woodland Park and daughters Cynthia McCoid and Linda Bidler, both of Maine. She was the beloved grandmother of Michael, Lisa, Matthew, Nadia, David, Lauren, Melissa & Laura along with several great grandchildren. Of course she is especially missed by her buddy Jake! She was predeceased by her sister Marie Kazanowsky and her brother William Fanslau. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson, NJ. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson.
