Steve was an amazing guy and a great team mate and friend. He had every right to be conceited but he never was. I can recall him taking the younger players under his wing and simply leading by example. He was soft spoken but led with his actions and attitude. It's hard to believe he is gone but his name will always live on as THE best hitter ever to come through Kearny, but more importantly, he should be remembered as an amazing person. RIP Steve, you will always be the KING of the whoosh club.

It is with heartfelt sadness to have read that Steve had passed on at such a young age. Steve was a Sophomore member of my KHS Varsity basseball squad. I knew then not only what a terrific baseball player he was but what a wonderful young man he was as well. He appeared to have a perpetual smile on his face. He will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to his family.

My heartfelt condolences to Deb, Stephen's sisters and the entire Bush/Stuart family. I knew Stephen well from our days playing baseball together in Little League to hanging together with our Dad's at the Kearny Firemen's Memorial Day Picnics. They were great times spent with our families. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Rest in Peace, Stephen!
