Obituary of Anthoula Scopelitis

Anthoula Scopelitis, 81, of Guttenberg, NJ, passed away on April 7, 2014. Anthoula was born in Alexandria, Egypt on November 30, 1932 to the late Anglis and Komisa Scopelitis. Anthoula was the beloved wife of Albert Dakar. She was the treasured mother of Helene Alkouraan and her husband Nizar, George Dakar, Raymond Dakar and his wife Mariam, and Peter Dakar and his wife Maude and the cherished grandmother of Mary and Nelly Alkouraan, Albert, Litsa, Edmond and George Dakar. Anthoula is also survived by her brother Dmitri Scopelitis, her sister Stvasti Scopelitis, her brother in law Edmond Dakar and his wife Virginia as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday at 11:30am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 237 Longhill Rd., Little Falls, NJ. Burial will follow at Grove Reformed Church Cemetery, 1132 46th St., North Bergen, NJ.
