Obituary of Ida M Freda

Ida M. Freda (nee Triglia), of Cedar Grove, formerly of Paterson, passed away on May 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Ida was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Giuseppe and Mary (Bordino) Triglia. Ida graduated from the Philadelphia School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for many years before retiring from St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly in Totowa. She volunteered at the Westminster Church in Paterson for children's programs and activities. She was formerly a choir singer at St. Agnes Church in Paterson. Ida was the beloved wife of the late Sabino Freda. She was the cherished mother of Gilda Restrepo and her husband Ray, Sam Freda and his wife Karen, and the late Geraldine (daughter) and Joseph Freda (son). She was the adored grandmother of Sam Freda, Jr. and his wife Yudit, Christine Restrepo and her fiancé Michael Puschak, and Danielle Restrepo. Ida is also survived by her sisters Sadie Morgan and Marie Tomassetti as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Ben Triglia, Joe Triglia, and Vincent "Jim" Triglia. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Gerard Majella Church, 501 W. Broadway, Paterson. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
