Obituary of Nellie Hatem

Nellie Hatem (nee Karam), 99, of Totowa, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2014. Nellie was born on November 7, 1914 in Newbern, NC to the late Albert and Nagera (George) Karam. She retired from Bloomingdales at the Riverside Square Shops in Hackensack. Nellie was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Hatem. She is the cherished mother of Karen Hatem and the late Richard Hatem and grandmother to Christine and Laura Cohen. She is also survived by her brother Albert Karam. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at 10am at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Little Sisters of the Poor, 140 Shepherd Lane, Totowa. A Mass will begin at 11am at St. Joseph's Home and entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
