Obituary of Vernon A Beckles

Vernon A. Beckles, 76, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away on May 5, 2014. He was born on July 18, 1937 in Scarborough, Tobago to the late Edward and Elvy (Lloyd) Beckles. Before retiring, Vernon worked as a member of the Carpenters Union in NYC. Vernon was the cherished father of Joann and Sherry Beckles, step-father of Cheryl Harcum and Sherlan Thomas, and grandfather of Danielle Beckles and Rashaad Harcum. He is also survived by 5 sisters and 1 brother as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives in Tobago. He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9am-11am at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A service will be held after visitation on Friday at 11am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
