Obituary of Giuseppa Colombo

Giuseppa Colombo (nee Catania), 80, of Woodland Park, passed away on June 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Siluliano, Sicily, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Carmela Catania. Giuseppa was a seamstress for many years as a member of the ILGWU in Paterson and was also the owner of Colombo's Pizzeria and Restaurant in Lincoln Park for 35 years. She was also a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. Giuseppa was the adored wife for over 56 years to Giuseppe Colombo, the cherished mother of Francesca Griffin and Vincent Colombo and his wife Jennifer, and the beloved grandmother of Brent Griffin, Adriana Cosentino, and Melinda, Michael, Nicholas and Matthew Colombo. She is also survived by her sister Rosa Madiona as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and sister. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10:15am at St. Bonaveneture Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
