Obituary of Rosina Laterza

Rosina Laterza (nee Simmarano), 87, of Paterson, NJ passed away on August 23, 2014. She was born in Montescaglioso on November 11, 1926 to the late Francesco and Nunziata (Dichio) Simmarano. She was a seamstress for many years with the ILGWU in Paterson. Rosina was also a loving homemaker to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Francesco Laterza for over 57 years. She was the cherished mother of Donata "Donna" Papile and her husband Giuseppe, Nunziatina "Nancy" Dizuzio and her husband Donato, Cosimo Laterza and his wife Donna and Nicolino Laterza and his wife Reneé. Rosina was the treasured grandmother of Joseph "Joey" and Rose Bella Papile, Rosella Milena and Daniel Francesco Dizuzio, Francesco, Cosimo and Rosabrina Laterza, and Rosalina, Francesco, Nicola and Gabriella Laterza. Rosina is the dear sister of Angelo, Carlo and Giuseppe Simmarano and Angelina Mazzoccoli. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at10am at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
