Obituary of William "Bill" Martinico
William "Bill" Martinico, 71, of Paterson, NJ, formerly of Lodi, passed away on September 15, 2014. Bill was born on September 13, 1943 in Hackensack, NJ. Bill retired after 20 years as the senior records clerk for the combustible bureau of the Paterson Fire Department. He was also a real estate agent, a commissioner of the Paterson Planning Board and the Paterson Board of Adjustment for 16 years, the President of the Hillcrest Civic Association and a former coach at the Lodi Boys Club. Bill was also a trumpet player and an avid Giants fan. Bill and his family were active parishioners at St. Joseph's Church in Lodi and shared a special relationship with Father Americo Salvi.
He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Rogers) Martinico for 40 years. He is also survived by cousins Giacomo Misistia and his wife Paula, Rosalba Misistia, Giovanna Botta and her husband Michael and their children. He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Sally (Gambino) Martinico, his brother Philip, and his sister Francine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 19th at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
