Obituary of Francisco "Pancho" Gonzalez

Francisco “Pancho” Gonzalez, age 79, of Paterson, passed away September 17, 2014. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Manuel and Maria (Soto) Gonzalez. Pancho worked for 27 years at Nabisco in Fairlawn, NJ. He was also a Pastor at Amparo Divino Church in Paterson. He was a devoted missionary who traveled to many countries building churches and devoting his time. He was the beloved husband of Monserrate “Mery” Gonzalez. He was the treasured father to Francisco Gonzalez, Jr. and his wife Julie, Mary Lee Castillo and her husband Angel, Andy Avila and his wife Wendy, Stella Rodriguez, Andres Ramirez and his late wife Evette, Johnny Gonzalez and his wife Ivette, and Miriam Sewer and her husband Nelson. He was the adored grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was one of 8 siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Monday at 10am at Calvary Temple, 1111 Preakness Ave., Wayne, NJ. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
