Obituary of Giovanna Rosa Cardone

Giovanna Cardone (nee Lacarbonara), 80, of Paterson, NJ passed away on September 30, 2014. She was born in Martina Franca, Italy on July 5, 1934 to the late Francesco and Maria Grazia (Aquaro) Lacarbonara. She was a seamstress for many years with the ILGWU in Paterson. Giovanna was the beloved wife of the late Martino Cardone and cherished mother of Vincenza (Janis) Puglia and her husband James of Roseland and Angelo (Tony) Cardone of Paterson. Giovanna was the treasured grandmother of Lauren Giovanna Fallat and Andrew Cardone. Giovanna is the dear sister of Dora Gorga and Luigi Lacarbonara of Italy and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 9:30am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 Totowa Rd., Totowa, NJ. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
