Obituary of Arthur J Stanton

Arthur J. Stanton, Jr., 84, of Verona, formerly of Woodland Park for many years, passed away on February 27, 2015. Arthur was born in Union City on February 21, 1931 to the late Arthur J. Stanton, Sr. and Agnes (Beck). He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1952-1954. Before retiring, Arthur owned and operated a printing business, Globe Lithographing, in Wallington. He was an active parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church where he was also a Cub Scout Leader and Treasurer of the Mens Club. In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed golfing, skiing, and playing tennis. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Meehan) for 60 years. He was the cherished father of Arthur J. Stanton, III, William Stanton, M.D. and his wife Keiko, Gerard Stanton and his late wife Elizabeth, Mark Stanton and his wife Diana, Brian Stanton and his wife Elizabeth, Andrew Stanton, Maryfrances McClain and her husband John, Maureen Milmoe and her husband John and the late Thomas Stanton and his wife Shelly. He was the treasured grandfather to 28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Arthur is also survived by his sister Joan Major, brothers James and Thomas Stanton and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30am at St. Bonaventure Church, 74 Ramsey St., Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
