Obituary of Karen Lee Phillips

Karen Lee Phillips, 52, of Oak Ridge, passed away on April 11, 2015. She was born in Passaic, NJ on January 21, 1963 and was raised in Woodland Park. She graduated from Passaic Valley High School in 1981and Montclair State College in 1985. Karen's passion was traveling around the world and helping to rebuild Haiti as a volunteer for Rebuild Haiti Mission. She was a model in her childhood and she appeared in a television commercial for Redbook Magazine. Most recently, Karen worked for Navartis Pro-Unlimited as a Compensation Analyst and previously worked at Olympus Corporation of Americas as Sr. Mgr. of Compensation. Karen was the beloved daughter of Lillian L. Phillips (Hecht) and the late Lawrence M. Phillips. She is the cherished twin sister to Carol Martinelli and her husband Phil, sister to Jeffrey Phillips and his wife Patti, sister to Nancy Mulick and her husband Nicholas and sister to Christine Garlewicz and her husband Daniel. She is the proud aunt of 5 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 grandnieces and 3 grandnephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ 07424. A wake service will be offered at 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson.
