Obituary of Sadalla Bitar

Sadalla Bitar, 91, of Paterson, passed away on May 28, 2015. Sadalla was born in Rabah, Syria on July 8, 1923 to the late Hanna and Salma Bitar. He worked for many years in a sugar factory in Syria. Sadalla was a dedicated family man who spent his life building and providing for his large and loving family. He was the beloved husband of Zahwa (Saloum) Bitar, the treasured father of Archimandrite Elias Bitar and his late wife Joanne, Julia Bitar and her husband Abed Bitar, Adnan Bitar and his wife Nahla, Ghassan Bitar and his wife Sahar Essa, Salah Bitar and his wife Sanaa, Milia Bitar and her late husband Nezar Saloum, Georget Bitar and her husband William Nadrous, and Ziad Bitar and his wife Reem, the adored grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is the dear brother of Father Waheeb Bitar and his wife Hyatt and Waheba Bitar and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday at 10am at St. George Antiochian Church, 237 Long Hill Rd., Little Falls, NJ 07424. Guests should meet at the church on Saturday morning. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.
