Obituary of Zlatica Zelenkov

Zlatica Zelenkov (nee Ivkov), of Saddle River , formerly of Totowa, passed away on August 4, 2014, her 86th birthday. She was born in Potporanj , Serbia to the late Cvetko and Jovanka Inkov. She was a loving homemaker for her family and was a member of St. John Serbian Orthodox Church in Paterson . She met and married the love of her life, Radislav. They had three children: Nadica, Verica and Jovan. Zlatica and her husband immigrated to the US in 1983. Her husband predeceased her, and her heart was broken with his passing. They spent 59 years in a devoted and inseparable marriage. Zlatica was a very caring, very loving, extremely patient mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always put her children before herself, and was selfless and kind in every way imaginable. She was a very hard worker. She did everything to support and help her family. She was always there for a chat, always offered great advice, and the love from her heart traveled long distances. She was so kind and so warm, and always made her family feel like they were the most important people in the whole world. She is remembered as a woman of great character and great spirit. She was a very strong woman. We will miss her beautiful presence. She leaves her family with great many fond memories. She had a great sense of humor, she loved to laugh. She loved to dance. Kenny Rogers was her favorite. There is just no one on earth like you, and we are so grateful for all the years of wonderful memories and love that have touched us. Zlatica was the adored mother of Nadica Turika and her husband Stevan, Verica Oldja and her husband Alexander, and Jovan Zelenkov and his wife Sofija. She was the cherished grandmother of Allen and Daniel Oldja, Jovana, Nenad and Verica Zelenkov, Marinela Zidisic and her husband Goran, Marin Turika and his wife Ivana, Jennifer Schulstad and her husband Paul, and Diana Thomas and her husband Matt and the treasured great grandmother of Isidora Zidisic, Vojin and Hana Turika, Alessandra and Isabel Thomas, and Brianna and Angelina Schulstad. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave. , Woodland Park , NJ . A funeral service will be offered on Friday at 9:30am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
