Obituary of Richard E Myles

Richard E. Myles, 91, of Woodland Park, formerly of South Dennis MA, passed away on September 3, 2015. Richard was born on May 16, 1924 in NYC where he was raised by Richard and Florence (Stratton) Myles. Richard proudly served his country as a member of the US Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 during WWII. He flew 44 missions as second radio and tail gunner in a B-24 Bomber and is credited with shooting down 1 Japanese Zero. He moved to Cape Cod in 1970 with his beloved late wife Mary. He worked most recently in the D.Y. School System and Cape Cod Technical High School. He is survived by his dear sister Margaret Myles and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, his brothers Thomas and John Myles, and his sisters Anna Renna and Martha Costa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8th, from 5-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A wake service will be held at 7pm. Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 9th, at 2:15pm at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
