Obituary of Mary Carmela Polito

Mary Carmela Polito (nee Coviello), 89, of Paterson, passed away on October 7, 2015. She was born in Paterson, NJ on April 30, 1926 to the late Giovanni Pasquale and Rosa (Parente) Coviello. Carmela worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper at Paterson Kitchen and Stove. She was an active parishioner at St. Brendan's Church in Clifton where she was also a member of the rosary society. She was also a member of the Felician College Guild and the Franciscan Guild at St. Bonaventure. She was the treasured mother of Susan Polito. She was the dear sister of Josephine Lax and the late Rose Cronk and Mary G. Kanson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9:30am at St. Brendan's Church, East 1st Street and Lakeview Ave., Clifton, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
