Obituary of Donald Jacob Hoedemaker
Donald Jacob Hoedemaker, 77, of Woodland Park, passed away from acute lymphoblastic lymphoma on October 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Prospect Park on December 8, 1937 to the late Jacob and Marie (Woudenberg) Hoedemaker. Donald graduated from Passaic High School class of 1955. He then served in the United States Army Air Force Reserve. He worked most recently as a printing supervisor for Beckley Press in Fairfield, NJ.
Donald was a volunteer fireman for over 55 years at the West Paterson Fire Co. #2 on McBride Avenue. There he earned the title of Vice President and Lieutenant and retired as a NJ Exempt Fireman.
Donald was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Klippel) Hoedemaker. He was the treasured father of Richard Hoedemaker and his wife Marisol and the cherished grandfather of Jonathan and Timothy Hoedemaker. He was the dear brother of Nancy Norton and uncle to Joy Smith and Paul and Mark Norton.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-6pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday at 9:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson.
