Obituary of Hafez Juzdan

Hafez Juzdan, age 96, of Woodland Park, NJ, passed away on May 25, 2013. He was born to the late Hanna and Hafeza Juzdan in Hama, Syria on May 1, 1917. When he came to the United States in 1946, he worked for many years in the embroidery industry. He was an active parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Little Falls. Hafez was the beloved husband of Wadia (nee Khabbaz) and the treasured father of George Juzdan and his wife Dorothy and Ziad Juzdan and his wife Fadia. Hafez and Wadia were married on June 21, 1953 in Syria and moved permanently to the United States the following year. He was the adored grandfather of Renee, Christina, Lindsey, Paul, George, Nicholas and Janine Juzdan. Staying active in the church was a passion of his. He also loved gardening. He was an avid stamp collector, loved history and reading. Hafez was loved by all in the community and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-9pm at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 237 Long Hill Road, Little Falls. A funeral service will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
