Obituary of Edward Fernley
Edward Fernley, 80, of Garfield, passed away on January 1, 2016. Edward was born in Totowa, NJ on April 26, 1935 to the late George and Violet (Brooke) Fernley. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. Before retiring, he worked for many years as the owner of Clover Roofing as well as working for various additional construction companies. In his spare time, Edward was an avid bowler.
Edward was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Fernley. He was the cherished father of Edward Fernley and his wife Lori and Daniel Gernley and his wife Donna; the cherished grandfather of Taylor Cuko and her husband Armando, Brennah Fernley and Rebekkah Fernley and the great grandfather of Grace Elizabeth Ambrose, AJ Cuko, and Aydin Cuko. He is survived by his sister Georgeanna Egan, his sister in law Hazel Tuscano and her husband Donald and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Gladys Costa, Eleanor Ayers and Helen Perry and by his brother Robert Fernley.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday at 10:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Rd., Washington Twsp, NJ.
