Obituary of Giuseppe "Joseph" Colombo

Giuseppe "Joseph" Colombo, 82, of Woodland Park, passed away on January 23, 2016 in his home. He was born on July 15, 1933 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy to the late Vincenzo and Francesca (Sasso) Colombo. Giuseppe was a baker and former owner of Colombo's Pizza in Lincoln Park for 35 years. He was also a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. Giuseppe was the beloved husband for over 56 years to Giuseppa Colombo who he missed dearly since her passing in 2014. He was cherished father of Francesca Alessio and her husband James and Vincent Colombo and his wife Jennifer; the beloved grandfather of Brent Griffin, Adriana Cosentino, and Melinda, Michael, Nicholas and Matthew Colombo; and the great grandfather of Caleb. He was the dear brother of Antonino Colombo and his wife Fina and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
