I met Donna on Tuesday September 3, 1974, move in day at Alumni Hall, a freshman dorm at Villanova University. We soon became friends and no combination of words no matter how concise or eloquent could come close to depicting the indelible impact that 44 years of her love, presence and friendship had on my life. Godmother to my first born son, Nick, Auntie Donna to John Jesse and Anna, we will hold Donna close by relying on a lifetime of poignant memories that came to an end far too soon. Donna, a loyal friend, with boundless energy left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was eloquent, refined, reserved blunt, outspoken, kind and outrageous all at the same time. A devoted geriatric nurse practitioner, Donna’s humility, down to earth demeanor, and innate humor combined with her intelligence and keen clinical acumen made her an outspoken and respected practitioner throughout her career trajectory. Her unique combination of clinical skill, ethical standards and impassioned advocacy were unparalleled bringing accolades, respect and admiration from nurses and physicians alike. Donna’s many patients, the beneficiaries of her intelligence, ethical standards and devoted care, adored her. I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to Barry; Bobbie, and Robin; Gregory,Catharine and the multitudeof other family, friends patients and others who loved Donna deeply. Donna’s charisma and enthusiasm contributed to a legacy that will continue for years to come. Nonetheless I cannot imagine a world without her. Rest peacefully my dear friend and wherever you are, please save me a seat. …Jeannie
