Obituary of Rosemary D'Onofrio

 

Rosemary D'Onofrio (nee Bierster), 89, of Totowa, formerly of Old Bridge, passed away on December 9, 2018. Rosemary was born in Sunbury, PA on August 23, 1929, the 3rd of the 9 children of the late Leo and Kathryn (Ruffing) Bierster. She was a devout Catholic who was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Old Bridge

 

Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph D'Onofrio (2016); the adored mother of Ann McFadden and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mary Tieto and her husband David of Ocean Twsp, NJ, Loretta Huss and her husband Jody of Wall, NJ, Peggy Klotz and her husband Richard of Freehold, NJ and Joann Baroni and her husband Christopher of Spotswood, NJ; and the cherished "Nana" of 12 grandchildren. 

 

She is also survived by her brothers James Bierster of Boca Raton, Fl, William Bierster and his wife Frances of Staten Island, NY, and her sisters, Sr. Catherine de Notre Dame of Baltimore, MD and Ann Liffey and her husband Joseph of Brooklyn, NY along with her 19 nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brothers Monsignor Leo N. Bierster and Tom Bierster and her sisters Peggy Bierster and Therese Venezia.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, 12/16 from 1-5pm at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, 140 Shepherd Lane, Totowa (entrance on Cumberland Ave., Paterson.) A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, 12/17 at 11am at St. Joseph's Home. Burial will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery, 535 Texas Rd., Marlboro.
