The news of your passing came to me with tremendous sadness and disbelief and although I still haven't fully come to terms with the news at least I am comforted knowing that you are with our Father in heaven now. I love you grandpa, your whole family loves and misses you. One day we will all be together again, life here is short and precious but in Gods kingdom it is eternal.

Janet, Lisa and family - Mark and my brother Tony, were friends, the older guys I always looked up to. We had good times in the neighborhood and at St. James. I can see that Mark lived a good life, was a great famly man, and a deeply spiritual and religious man dedicated to hard work and his professional. The "Jolly Rogers" brings back fond memories - and, among the old Totowa crowd, a great trivia question - who the guys were and what great music they played at local spots including the parish hall. I hope that Mark's life is one that has set an example for his kids and grandkdis. Joe Mecca

My sincerest sympathy goes out to Patti, the children and all their families as well as to Janet and Lisa. I will fondly remember all the wonderful family get-togethers we shared growing up, his warm smile, quick wit and sense of humor. Rest in Peace Mark.

Mark was a big part of our family and I am honored and blessed to have known him. In this painful moment may my condolences offer you comfort and peace. Mark was an exceptional person always willing to help, volunteering his assistance, a good listener and many other good traits too numerous to mention. I have nothing but fond memories of Mark. Pattie, my love and heartfelt condolences go out to you and to your family, may God bless Mark and may he Rest In Peace.

Mark became the older brother I never had. He taught me so much about how to do things that I didn't know how to do. The laughs we shared over the years were amazing. My heart is breaking for Patty.

Extending my deepest condolences to the Palmieri’s on the immeasurable loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. To me, he was Uncle Mark: a joker, a listener, capable of inhuman support in times of trouble, exemplary family man, lover of spooky stories, and ultimately the person who I considered to be my second father and who gave me a solid picture of what home is supposed to look like. It’s hard to summarize what a life has meant to you. Oftentimes little images and memories surface to help ease the pain. One thing that keeps repeating is Uncle Mark coming out onto the porch, whether in Pine Lake Park or Manahawkin or Woodland Park to smoke a cigarette and listen to Nickie and I have ridiculous conversations over the years. He would sometimes chime in, other times just quietly finish and go inside. I’m thinking the times he was quiet he was thinking: how do I make this into a joke? I love you Uncle Mark, you will forever be missed. Aunt Pattie, my heart especially goes out to you.

Tribute from William Geoghegan: Uncle Mark was one of the most generous and kind people I have ever known. He would go out of his way without a second thought to help out a family member in need and go to great lengths and considerable knowledge to fix whatever the issue, and he would do it in good humor. He was the kindest person I've ever known, he made you feel as if his generosity was a pleasure for him rather than a burden. His presence was always a comfort, warm and greeting and quick with a joke and his expectant smile after telling one made you laugh more than you would have otherwise. His positivity was infectious, he was never judgmental, he listened and genuinely wanted to understand why someone thought the way they did. He may not have agreed, but he never let on, he just smiled in consideration and allowed for your opinion. He was a true gentleman, a loving father, the definition of a husband, and a man the likes of which I will never see again.

Mark was a wonderful husband, father, brother-in-law and a wonderful friend. He was so giving of his time and his talent. He helped everyone even when you could tell he was tired. We lost a wonderful person. Our hearts are truly broken. Whenever he would help us Hank Insisted that he be paid. You know Mark never wanted to take anything but finally said OK and he gave us a price. We knew that was so low. We know how much things cost. Hank felt really bad he said I’ll help you. Mark would look him straight in the eye and say you help me it’s gonna cost more. We will always love you and truly miss you. Hank and Arlene

I cannot say enough about my brother-in-law, Mark. It would take a novel to appreciate all that he has done in his life and how he affected people for the better. My heart goes out to my sister, Pattie.
