Obituary of Mark E. Palmieri
On Saturday, July 24, 2021, Jesus welcomed home Mark E. Palmieri; he was 67 years old. Mark was born on December 23, 1953 in Jersey City to Angelina and George Palmieri. He grew up in Totowa and held various jobs since he was 13, but he knew early on that he wanted to be an Electrician.... he accrued a wealth of experience from his first employer and continued to learn all along the way, always ready to listen to the suggestions and “tips” of his peers, thereby becoming the ultimate Electrician. One of his co-workers once proclaimed that he was the “Yoda of Electricians”. He put his all into everything he did, most especially loving and caring for his family.
Mark was a proud 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus #6574 of St. James Church in Totowa. When he had free time, he enjoyed taking his Harley out for a spin and music always played a big part in his life. In his youth he performed on the guitar and bass, with his band “The Jolly Rodgers”, then later with “Jersey Coast”. But his biggest treasure on earth was his family; they meant everything to him and vice versa. He loved spending time with his family and took special delight hanging out with his grandchildren.
He left behind the love of his life, Pattie Palmieri. He was the adored father of Nickie (Palmieri) Capotorto and her husband Mike, Eric Palmieri and his wife, Christie (Palmieri) Filan and her husband Steve, Danny Palmieri and his girlfriend Patty Lemin, Jill Palmieri and Joey Palmieri and the cherishes grandfather of Jacob, Angelo, Zaira, Ariana, Alexa, Anthony, Cole, Dom, Isabella, Antonio, Sofia, Markie and Noah.
He is also survived by his loving older sister: Janet (Palmieri) Park and her husband Rick, and their children and grandchildren: Jenna and Rob and family, Ryan and Stephanie and family, Jordan and Justine and by his loving younger sister: Lisa (Palmieri) Mohr and her husband Mike, and their son and grandchildren: Jeremy and Sarah and family. He is also survived by many other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Mark was pre-deceased by his loving parents, Angie and George, and his beautiful niece, Bethany Park.
Mark was a humble man who was always ready to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. His kindness knew no bounds. Beloved by so many, Mark, “Papa” and “Grandpa” will be missed terribly. No greater man there ever was. Our hearts are shattered, but we will try our best to honor his memory by emulating his example of being a true Christian. He was our hero, our roll model and our EVERYTHING! To say he will forever be missed is a big understatement....
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 9:30am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 Totowa Ave., Totowa. Guests should gather at St. James Church. Cremation will be private.
