Horst's Eulogy given by Stephanie posted a condolence
Tuesday, February 11, 2014
My Uncle gave the eulogy for my grandfather when he passed away in 2005. Horst spoke about my grandfather but he also spoke about how important his mom, sisters and children were to him. Horst said that he was the luckiest person in the world to have them. Today, I say, "How lucky were we to have Horst as a brother, son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. I also have the honor of calling him my godfather. My Uncle was always there when you needed him. He never missed and birthday or a holiday. He was a fixer-when something was wrong he tried to take care of it. He didn't say much about it, but got it done. Horst would only look for the food in a person. He would say, just get along. What's the problem? don't let others bother you. His friends all say he was a wonderful guy. He made them laugh and enjoyed being around him. He would give the shirt off his back if you needed help. He deeply cared about them. To name a few like Ernesto, Nino, Diane who was his 7th sister and Hector, who was like a son to him. But the list gets too long. He was guite talented and learned to become a tailor at a young age. He made police uniforms to children's bathing suits. I personally had the best custom made bathing suit collection a young girl could ask for. He was a hard worker who owned his own business and always took pride in his work. He truly loved his children, Kristofer, Stacey and Kurt. They could never do anything wrong and he only wanted the best for them. Today is a difficult day. He left us way too soon. But then again he always did everything his own way. My grandmother said it was like the song Frank Sinatra sang "I did it my way." I guess this is just one of them. We love you Horst! and we will miss you always! Some of you may know that my uncle took comfort in reading the Bible and his favorite verse was Psalm 23.

Horst,
Its hard to believe. You always made me laugh and I will miss reminiscing with you. We shared many good times, great laughs and we had great accomplishments. I'll remember the fun we had at the Rolling Stones concerts.
We will miss you!
