Hey Padre-I cannot believe that it has been almost a year since you passed away - I miss our daily chats - whether on the phone, online, or in person. Our friendship was special, and I will always treasure it. I felt such a void in my life when you passed away - but I was wrong - a void would have been that you were never a part of my life. You touched my life in such a special way - I am truly blessed. You are and always will be my guardian angel in heaven - how lucky the angels are that you are among them. Love you and miss you - Carolyn

No one can understand God’s plan, but we all know that there certainly is one. Knowing your personality it is probably safe for me to say; God saw what a great job you were doing here that he decided he needed your expertise in heaven! On a more serious note, you have certainly touched the lives everyone you met and will be sadly missed but you will live in the hearts of all for many years to come.

A wonderful young man who grew up to be an extrodinary adult. A kind and comforting priest, there when consolation was needed. I always remember him saying,"don't call me Father John." "I come home so I can be just John" He never was and never will be just John. A beautiful gift who walked with us for too short a time.
God's peace to the Piccione,Piazza, Armada Families.

Fr. John has touched so many lives in so many ways. He will surely be missed but remembered so often. We will never forget how much he impacted our lives...marrying my husband and I, sharing the sorrow and supporting our family at the time of my father's death, sharing the joy of our daughters' births, and sharing the many other both happy and sad moments in our family's life over the years even if it has been through e-mails, notes, and pictures. We know he is no longer in pain and is in peace with all others who have gone before him. The people in heaven are lucky to have such a special person in their midst.

Father John...What a terrible shame. You left this earth way too early.I guess the "Boss" had bigger and better plans for you up in Heaven.Reading all the candles lit in your memory just shows how many people's lives you have touched.I remember many years ago when my son was about 8(he's now 22),you were at Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary party and Mike(my son)was so taken by you, he pretended to be a priest. When I told you about it you took off your collar and gave it to him and told him he might need it some day. He still has that collar. You have touched so many. When I heard you passed away, my thoughts went to my Mom.She just loved you so much,I found alittle comfort knowing that you are with her now.Keep an eye on her for us. Rest in peace...

Father John, we were driving last night and Michael pointed at one of the stars and asked "do you think that's Father John up there?" The kids then had a whole conversation about how you were up in Heaven now with God, Mitty (our cat), Nanny (their great-grandma), and all of our departed family and friends and how someday we will all see you again. It is comforting for them to know that you will be watching over them. You have made a huge impact on all of our lives and we will never forget you! Love, Jim, Edwina, Kelsey, Michael and Tess

Fr. John, you knew how much the mentoring during my discernment meant to me and how eternally grateful I will always be. The little lessons, the talks, the moments of encouragement, right up to my ordination. I always enjoyed seeing that smile and hearing you sing those great songs from the 50’s and at times we harmonized; they’re now cherished memories. You as a man brought the light of Christ to so many. As a priest, you ministered to so many in the true spirit of Saint Francis. You touched so many people’s lives, as well as mine. I thank God for the blessing we all received to have met you and have our lives touched by you. You are not here on this earth with us any longer, however, your spirit will live in our hearts forever. The only way I could think of to say farewell is in the words that you used to closed your homilies that we all enjoyed so much, “May the Lord give you His peace.

A man who so much loved God, his family, brothers and sisters in Christ and those whose path he crossed. He left on each of us a spot of his special love and may we humbly share it within our lives as a special honor to him. The loving smile on the man was the same we saw on his cherub face as a child. It still warms me even as I cry. His mother, Stephanie, was one of the principal sources for the love that flowered in him and I pray for her as I do for him as I know she will miss him terribly. How blessed we all are to have known this brave young man.

Fr. John: I was praying day and night for a miracle to keep you here with us, but I guess God needed another ANGEL in Heaven. And that you truly are: An Angel. You were there for me and my family every step of the way from the day you married Ed and I, baptized our children Anthony and Christian and even visited them in the hospital when they were born. I have talked to so many people in the past few days and as we share our Fr. John stories, I realize that you made each and every one of us feel equally important. I don't know how you found the time, but you did; you never said no. This world won't be the same without you. I offer my deep condolences to your family and pray that they will find comfort in the fact that you were an extraordinary person. Judy

I will always remember Padre walking into my office at least once a week, with that big smile on his face, saying to me.Hey boss how's everything going today. On my worst days he would make me feel better,by making me see the brighter side of things. He was a good counselor and confidant. He was a great inspiration and comfort to me, and all of the men and women of our department,on the fire ground as well as off. When ever you reached out to him for help,no matter what time day or night,he would be there for you.
Padre's love and compassion for the fire service will be remembered by those he touched. We loved him,and we will miss him.For he was one of Paterson's Bravest, our brother firefighter.
Padre fought like hell to beat this disease during this past year, and he did it with great courage, honor and dignity. Many of us prayed for his full recovery, but God had bigger and better plans for him. All I can say Padre, is that I find comfort that you are along side your mentor and friend Father Mychal Judge. You couldn't be with better company.
Until we meet again.
Your brother,
Chief Jim Pasquariello P.F.D. retired.
