My father was a wonderful son to his parents, a caring brother to his siblings, a devoted husband and father to his wife and children, an awesome uncle to his nieces and nephews, a fantastic grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. An open letter to my Father
Dad,
I have spent the last 49 days with you , day in and day out. We have developed a special bond in these last few days together. This has been more time than I have spent with you in the last 35 years. These were precious moments that I will never forget, I thank the lord and give him praise for allowing us this most important and intimate time.
You have been a great Father to myself, my sister Judy and my brother Charles.
You have taught us right from wrong and have helped us to develop an independence of our own. You have taught us the meaning of responsibility, the meaning of love, and the meaning of empathy and caring for others.You have taught us these things through your actions and the personal lessons experienced by each of us.
Your love and devotion to Mom has been a pinnacle to which we could aspire in our own lives. Your love for your own Mother and Father and the devotion to your Sisters and Brothers has always astonished me. Dad, you have taught us well, for this I thank you.
For all your hard work and labor to feed and support our family, I thank you.
Dad, you will be greatly missed by myself, Judy, Charles, Sandy, Andrea,your Grandchildren,and your Great Grandchildren.
